LIFE AMIA

Resumen del proyecto

LIFE AMIA is a LIFE Environment and Resource Efficiency project with the main objective of obtaining high quality regenerated water in compliance with European reuse regulations, by using low energy consumption technologies, eliminating emerging contaminants and pathogens and with the application of circular economy to minimize waste. This project hopes to not only obtain adequate water for reuse in agriculture in compliance with the new European Regulation of Water Reuse, but also other milestones such as: achieve an energetically self-sufficient system to urban wastewater treatment; reduce environmental impact of produced sludge, carbon footprint and GHGs emissions; recovery of nitrogen and phosphorus in the biomass; and the elimination of micropollutants and pathogens from wastewater, especially pharmaceutical products like venlafaxine, ketoprofen or diclofenac that are not removed efficiently by conventional treatments.
